Lilly Lines by Jack Barlick    886-4694

Every time I venture outside I expect to see the leaves turning to their colorful fall colors. The next few weeks should accelerate that happening, a fore boding of winter ahead.

The Lilly Fire Company will be conducting a hoagie sale this Saturday. September 14th. Contact any Lilly fireman to place an order.

Sunday, September 15th will bring the Lilly Fire Company end of summer poker run for quads and trail bikes on Lilly Mountain. If you like playing in the mud come join in the fun and make some Thunder on the Mountain. Registration is from 9:A:M until noon at the Mt. Carmel Church Lot on Hilltop road. Helmets are required. No alcohol permitted on the course.

Sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Jerry Bender who died last week. Jerry grew up in Lower and Upper Dutchtown and was a son of the late Norman and Madeline Bender. He was one of the last students to attend the Dutchtown grade school. Jerry was a very good baseball player and an avid bowler. He will be missed.

Sympathy is also extended to the family and friends of Lilly native Kelly Campagna who also died last week. He was a son of Kelly and Ethel Campagna. He graduated from Lilly High School and ran an insurance business in Ebensburg.

Today, September 12 finds Ava Campagna and Brian Skora observing birthdays followed by Gertrude Leap , William Orlosky and Robert Sorchetti on the 14th. Josephine Lysic and Kaci Paul celebrate on the 15th as will Kloe Dixon, Jim Arnold, Benjamin Rainey and Connie Stauski on the 16th. The Lilly-Washington Historical Society will meet at 7:00 PM tonight, September 12th, at the Lilly Borough building. Any one that has a family picture they want considered for the calendar is ask to drop it off there or at Galls. Good old time scenes in Lilly are also welcome.

You are an old timer if you remember the pay phone in the drug store on Main Street.
