We got a decent share of much needed rain lately. From Maryland to Georgia however it has been a rain disaster with up to 18 inches of rain in a very short time period near Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. I know of a local couple who were to vacation at Myrtle Beach the same time as all of this rain. Well, the old saying: The best laid plans of mice and men……

Sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Patricia (Goss) Tranquillo who passed away on October1. She was the widow of Victor Tranquillo Sr. and the daughter of J. Leo and Mary Goss. She grew up in Barkertown. Patricia was a registered nurse and is survived by five children: Linda, Vicki, Patti, Theresa and Victor. Her dad was the manager of the C.A. Hughes Company store and was a founder of the Lilly-Washington War Memorial Association.

The late Cresson writer Margie Weyandt would be thrilled at the new look at the Cresson Shop and Save.
The store is very clean and laid out well. I feel very comfortable shopping there.

Taylor Hershel, Ray Ernest and Joseph Stauski celebrate birthdays today, October 8 followed by Noah Baker, Homer Butterbaugh, Patricia Felus and Britanny Spaid on the 10th. On the 11th William Agosta, Michael McIntosh and Marion Zunich get to party as will Christopher Conrad and Francis Moyer on the 12th. It will be cake and ice cream time for Consiglia Martynuska, Theresa Shedlock and Brock Talko on the 13th and Jamil Flores, Mary Puglise , Anna Sweeney and Stephanie Wheeler on the 14th. Happy Birthday to all!

Michael and Christina Quinn observe their wedding anniversary on October 9 followed by Matt and Renee Myers and Tim and Margie Panek on the 10th and John and Pamela Sanders on the 11th Laura and Gerald Siedlarczyk observe their anniversary on the 12th and Ted and Leona George celebrate on the 14th. Happy Anniversary to All
