Dakota Paul, the son of James and Dawn Paul, placed first in the 4-H State Archery compound bow junior boys competition held at State College in August. He scored a 439 out of a possible 540. At the Cambria County fairgrounds he placed 5th in September in the senior boy division.
Here is the schedule of events for this Saturday, October 26th as Lilly celebrates Halloween. Line up for the annual Halloween parade will be at 3:00 PM at the ambulance building. The parade will start at 3:30 PM and move down Main Street to Washington and then up Rail Road Street to Cleveland Street at the ambulance building. Children will then be given a treat from the Decorating committee that was funded by Lilly Borough and Washington Township.
From 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM trick or treat will be held in the borough and township. The Lilly firemen will help patrol the streets during this time. Drive carefully as many young ghosts and goblins will be on the streets.
At 7:00 PM there will be a bonfire held at the firemen’s pavilion with a free marshmallow roast. Come enjoy the evening with your children and grandchildren. The firemen will sell refreshments. There are several homes in the area all decked out for the festivities. Check out the yard full of gremlins in Ron Muldoons yard. (Very colorful)
Misty Haven Stables will return again this year for the annual horse and sleigh rides held the Saturday after Thanksgiving along with the community light up night. This year Ernie will bring a sleigh that will carry up to 12 riders. This makes it possible to bring the entire family to enjoy the rides. The sign up roster will be at Galls Insurance. Tickets will be only $3 a person. Rides will be from 5 until 9 PM. Get listed early.

You are an old timer if you remember when John Novotny was the liquor store manager here in Lilly.
You are ancient if you made purchases there.
