Lilly Area Baseball and Softball signups will be held Saturday morning February 1 and February 15th 2014 at the Washington Township building from 10:00 AM until noon each day. Signups will include Pee Wee baseball ages 5and 6 and Pee Wee baseball 7 and 8. Little League is ages 9-10 and 11-12. Girls Softball is ages 8-11 and Pony League is 13-15. Softball age is as of 12/31/2013 and baseball age is as of 4/30/2014.
Signup fees are Pee Wee, Little League and Softball $25. Pony League is $75. Fees increase after March 1. For further information call John Hurley at 886-9483 or Rich Leahey at 886-4338.
My daughter, Natalie Barlick Reed received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Penn State in a graduation ceremony at the Jaffe Mosque on December 21st. She is now pursing her Masters. Natalie is employed by Mount Nittany Hospital in State College as an RN. She also runs as a paramedic with Mount Nittany and AMED. Her twins Laura and Derek celebrated their 7th birthday on January 3.
Harold Kertes of Mechanicsburg, formerly of Lilly also received a Bachelor Degree from Penn State.
He works for the Attorney General’s office in Harrisburg and is the son of Mike and Mary (Cassidy) Kertes.
Reed George passed away in Cleveland on January 2. He was the last surviving member of his family that included brothers Tookie and Everett George and sister Mary Mallin. They were grandchildren of Frederick L. George, a Civil War veteran whose picture is at the Lilly American Legion.
Today, January 23rd finds Donald Diehl and Larry Summerville celebrating their birthdays as will Corey Shedlock and Catherine Weakland on the 24th. On the 25t Amy Walters and Ray Lasinski gets to party followed by Ron Courtot, Gary Nagy and Shawn Nadolsky on the 26th. Both Michael Conrad and Bailey Prebish enjoy cake and ice cream on the 27th as will Judith George, Amanda Beck, Andrew Jones, Ted Kunko, Deborah Rabatin and Mary Yanik on the 28th. On the 29th Robert Bennett Sr. and Jeanine Nagle celebrate. Happy Birthday to All!
Stephen and Bonnie Mardula celebrate their wedding anniversary on January 24 followed by Francis and Jean Albarano who will observe their 64th anniversary on the 28th. Best Wishes to both couples.
