CRESSON PRISON CLOSING I had no use for Governor Corbett before and I definitely have increased my dislike for him after the sneaky way he and his cohorts at the Department of Corrections decided to close the Cresson Prison. This will be disastrous for this areas economy and takes away the few good paying jobs that remained here.
Some items to investigate are: Why close Cresson after just spending many millions there to upgrade the weatherization? Why close Cresson when over 2400 state prisoners are lodged in county and municipal jails? Is Corbett trying to take the Centre County heat off him over not investigating Sandusky enough when he was attorney general by placing over 500 jobs there?
These facts from the Department of Corrections say there are 51,000 state prisoners and 48,000 beds. That is 3000 less beds than prisoners. That would be enough to keep Cresson (1500) and Greensburg (950) open.
Keep in mind Corbett will be running for re-election in less than two years. Anyone from Cambria County that votes for him should engage the much needed services of a shrink. He has done nothing for us.
After all the confusion over the prison shut downs we than learn that sneaky Tommy has also given the rights to manage the Lottery to a British firm….outsourcing PENNSYLVANIA JOBS TO Britain, Ask yourself: What has Tom Corbett done to help Cambria County?
