T’IS THE SEASON

The center of town looks great thanks to the efforts of Bill and Alb Claar, Bev Mandichak, Paul Sklodowski and others who prepared it for the upcoming holidays. The lollipop lites really add to the occasion as does the new Merry Christmas arch that just arrived on November 25 and was purchased through the generosity of donors to the Decorating Committee fund drive. The manger at the Lilly Bank reminds us of the holiness of the season.

The Saturday evening Christmas Lighting program on November 29 was very well attended. The temperature stayed above freezing making it easier for the public to enjoy the program. Santa arrived on the fire truck and I was told 48 dozen of cookies greeted visitors to see him at the borough building.

Almost 200 people from infants to elderly were able to enjoy a horse and sleigh ride provided by Misty Haven Stables. Ernie and his two white horses rode steady from 5:00 PM until 8:45 PM. Lilly even made Channel 6 News later in the evening displaying Lillys event and colors over western Pennsylvania.

SYMPATHY
Sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Frances(Moschgat) Turner , a daughter of the late George and Mildred Moschgat who recently passed away in South Carolina. Sympathy is also extended to the family and friends of Margaret Lee, the wife of Adam Lee, who also recently died.

OLD TIMER
You are an old timer if you remember when Brady Leahey delivered coal and wood in the Lilly area.
