GOOD JOB

Credit goes to the members and friends of the Lilly United Methodist Church who spent part of their day on Saturday April 21 cleaning up litter from Lilly Borough to new Route 22 in Cresson Township along Route 53. They had collected several bags of litter when I noticed their efforts.

We must abhor litter and educate the public not to discard anything along the highways and streets.

There are fines for such behavior. Report violators to the police.

SPRINGTIME

Just as we hear the last roar of the snow blowers we begin to hear the roar of lawn mowers in the neighbor hood. Thank God, spring is here. Have you noticed the increase in people out walking?

My cherry tree in the back yard is a beautiful pink this week and as usual the daffodils are showing off their blooms. What a great time of the year. I will be awaiting a call about the first hummingbird sighting.

OLD TIMER

You are now an old timer if you played football or basketball or cheered for the Lilly- Washington High School Red Raiders, or played in the Lilly-Washington High School band.

Believe it or not!
