SWISS STEAK DINNER
Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church will be hosting a Swiss Steak Dinner on Sunday, April 19, at the Hilltop Church. Adult and all takeout is $9 and children in house is $4.50. Dinner will be served from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM. Additional info call 886-0205. Come out and enjoy a good dinner.
Shirley Patterson tells me that Blue Birds have already returned to her backyard feeders and she expects the hummingbirds any day now. A bear also has already ventured through her yard.
There will be plenty of opportunities to fish this spring in the vicinity thanks to TAPS ( Traditional Anglers of Pennsylvania) of Portage who will be doing many stockings during April and May. On April 16 they will stock Trout Run and Kane Run; on the 21st the Little Conemaugh at Oil City; on the 23rd they will stock the Little Conemaugh here in Lilly; on the 28th Noels Creek and Benscreek on April 30.
May stockings include Bear Rock Run on May 5 at 9:30; Conemaugh at Oil City on the 7th at 5:30; Noels Creek on the twelth at 5:30 and Benscreek on the 13th at 5:30. On May 14 TAPS will stock the Little Conemaugh here in Lilly at 5:30 and on May 15 the Bear Rock Run at 9:30. There will be an all day fishing derby at Kane Run on May 16. Good fishing

The 1975 Penn Cambria Senior Class reunion will be held at the Gallitzin Italian Club on June 27 at 7:00 PM. It will be a casual, no charge, affair with a cash bar and DJ. Call Laura Lenz at 696-0357 if you need further information and if you will be attending. This will be the 40th year since the class graduated.
The sympathy of the entire community is shared with the family and friends of Ruth Boast who died on April 12.She and her late husband, Warren, raised a large family here in town.
I failed to mention that Jeff Bennett was one of those who helped with the Easter decorations in town. Thanks Jeff. A newsletter about the Easter Egg hunt failed to list Lilly Borough as a donor.
Helen Talko, Virginia Causer and Becky Baker celebrate their birthdays today, April 16, followed by Agnes Leap , Mary Agnes Slebodnik, Annette Smychynsky and my sister Eileen Sweeney on the 17th. On the 18th Matthew McCoy and Pricilla Przybys get to party . On the 19th it will be cake and ice cream time for Jocelyn Myers, Leonard Olsick and Anna Wozniak. On the 20th Margaret Cochran, Anna Ference, Cynthia Funari, Thomas Muldoon Jr.,and Sally Lassak observe birthdays as will Thomas Kodosky, Justin Conley and Irene Krumenaker on the 21st and Dan George, Francis Claar, Donald Finnegan, Frances George, Dallas Hite, Judy McIntosh and Marisa Rabatin on the 22nd.
