Lilly Lines by Jack Barlick 886-4694
What a cold spell we just had. Makes me look and long for spring that much more. I noticed Bob McLucas was in cold ole town Lilly for the holidays from warm, sunny Florida, I thought: He needs a shrink.
Why cook in this cold weather when on Sunday, January 12 it only takes a short drive to the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church on Hilltop Drive to enjoy a stuffed pork dinner from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM. Adults are $9.00 to dine in and children are $4.50. All take outs are $9.00. Call 937-7053 for information.
Sympathy is extended to the family of Marie Jean Staley who passed away on January 1.
Winifred McLucas celebrates her birthday tomorrow, January 10 followed by Cristal Martino, Crystal Steck and Donald Patterson on the 11th. On the 12th it will be party time for Dorothy Conrad, Ron McCoy Jr. and David Swinger 111. The 13th will find Ed Stombaugh celebrating as will Cody Falger, Katherine Glass, Bill Kozak and Joyce Larue on the 14th. Patricia Miorelli and Jerod McConnell observe birthday’s on the 16th. Happy Birthday to All.
I took over the position of Lilly Borough Mayor on Tuesday evening January 7th. If you have a borough related issue for the mayor call me at 886-4694. I am hot on drug pushers and hope to make their lives miserable here in town.
According to a class mate of mine, Rose Ann (Sweeney) Presley from the sunny peach state (GA) you are an old timer if you remember when Ed Bradley was Chief of Police and would place a line across the road at Ollie Leaps garage on Portage Street and try to stop speeders by blowing a whistle.
