Lilly Lines by Jack Barlick

HALLOWEEN

Halloween finally winds down tonight after a lot of activity through out the Mainline. Here in Lilly Saturday the 25th was the big day with the parade, trick or treat and the bonfire. Piper Street was busy as about 300 little, and not so little, witches and goblins trolled the street in search of treats. Fortunately my daughters Cathy and Jackie were kind enough to man the candy bowls on my front porch while grandkids Kiera, Kianna, Conner and Kaylee when visiting around the neighborhood.

FOOTBALL

Congratulations to the Penn Cambria varsity football team on their 33-8 win over Westmont this past weekend. One of the games spectacular plays was Lilly’s Jake Hurley returning a interception 42 yards for a touchdown. Mark Mardula and Peyton Behe also contributed to the win. Good Luck against Somerset in the season’s final game tomorrow in Somerset.

MARYLAND

Took a trip over the weekend to Maryland to see the farm my son John and his wife Molly purchased near Hagerstown. The farm has a small river on its boundary that has bass in it, so next year I may give a try fishing there. On Sunday we went to St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Annapolis for the baptism of grand daughter Nola. Annapolis was full of tourists as it was the Navy football team home coming weekend. A very relaxing weekend in deed.
