PANTHERS FOOTBALL How close can one be to winning, then lose? Well that’s what happened to Penn Cambria last Friday at Forest Hills as the Forest Hills team won 20-18 in overtime. I predict Penn Cambria for an upset win over Richland tomorrow night at home. It will be Seniors Night so there should be a nice crowd on hand. See you there!

HALLOWEEN A reminder that the annual Trick or Treat and Halloween Parade in Lilly has been changed to Saturday evening, October 27th. Parade line up will be at 3:00 PM with the parade starting at the Ambulance building at 3:30. Door to door trick or treat will follow from 4 until 6 PM. There then will be a bonfire and story telling in the parkyard near the firemen’s pavilion at 7:00 PM. There will be free marshmallows to roast and the firemen will be selling hotdogs.

Take a ride around town after dark and you will see several nice Halloween displays including at John Gibbons home on Portage Street, Ron Muldoon’s on Main Street and Bill Leahey’s on Jones Street to name a few.

COLORADO COWGIRLS Agnes Phillips and her daughter Mary Shultz recently flew to Colorado to have a mini re-union with Agnes sons Bob and Art. Bob resides in Castle Rock, CO. and Art resides in Clinton, Missouri. The families enjoyed an early Thanksgiving. They then went on a sight seeing tour and saw hundreds of elk and a herd of Rocky Mountain sheep. They also spent a day in the Garden of the Gods near Colorado Springs and camped in a cabin without TV or cell phones for two nights at the Rocky Mountain Park in Estes Park. All credit is due Agnes for camping out at the age of 93.

HISTORICAL SOCIETY The Lilly History book, Spirit of the Community and the Military History book along with a few Lilly Cookbooks are available at Gall’s Insurance Agency. Any of the three will make a nice Christmas gift.
