FOOTBALL Penn Cambria lost a close game with Bishop Guilfoyle on Saturday, September 29th with a score of 8-14. They are now 4-1 for the season and play Cambria Heights tomorrow in Cresson at 7:00 PM. The only consolation in the loss to Guilfoyle is that their head coach, Justin Wheeler, is from Lilly.

SYMPATHY My deepest sympathy is extended to the brothers and sisters of Joel Muldoon and their families and his many friends. Joel, a Marine veteran of the Viet-Nam era, recently passed away. He was 57.

MINERS I received several calls about Lilly area men who died as a result of mining accidents. I am still looking. I even have one from 1857 and one from 1869. Miner plaques for the monument can still be purchased at Galls Insurance until Monday, October 8 when another order will be sent in. Many new ones were added and there is room for a few dozen more.

COLD DAY IN HADES It will be a cold day in hell before I vote for Mitt Romney after I learned that he and his father felt he was too important to serve in Viet-Nam and was draft deferred 4 times. Who wants a commander-in-chief who feels he was more important than the over 58,000 men and women who died there and the countless thousands who were injured? Good Bye Mitt.

FALLCOLORS Have you noticed the trees beginning to take on their fall colors? The next few weeks will be a dazzling display of beautiful colors in the mountains and valleys. Get out and enjoy the sights.
OLDTIMER You are becoming an oldtimer if you remember the large, black, water tank used by the railroad that was located next to Tickerhoofs, now Cloherty, Funeral Home.
