SYMPATHY Genieve Zimmerman passed away in Hagerstown, Maryland. She was a granddaughter of Dr. Charles White who had practiced medicine in Lilly from the 1920’s to the 1950’s. Genieve had attended Mount Aloysius College in the nursing program. She and her son, Charles Johnson, had made several visits to Lilly in the past few years and provided the Lilly-Washington Historical Society with some priceless photos of Dr. White. She was a faithful member and donor to the society.

HEAT SPELL Whoooa! Talk about hot weather. I ate several watermelons lately to help cool off. Haven’t been this warm since I was in the Mekong Delta of Vietnam many long years ago. We didn’t have air conditioners either, just one large fan that was moved around the barracks all night long. Still looking forward to my upcoming beach trip however, maybe the nights will cool off.
